A Little Something New (Kind of)
By Paul StanleyJanuary 27, 2016
Well, here we go, my first blog on our new website! It has taken quite a bit of time, effort and money to get this site up and running but we are finally here. In this day and age, (man, I sound old), electronic media is important if we are expected to reach out into our culture.
Some see this as a luxury and not a necessity. Some, however, see it as an absolute if we are expected to communicate with the current generation. I have to agree with the latter in this case. Facebooking, texting, webpages and e-mails are the primary ways of communication with a vast majority of people today, so if it works, we will do it. I have been heard to say that I would stand on the street corner in my underwear playing Yankee Doodle Dandy on my kazoo if that was what it took to get the saving message of Jesus Christ into the lives of those around me (sorry for the mental picture I just threw your way!), so we have developed this webpage with its information, blogs, online giving and resources in order to effectively do what God has called us to which is to reach out into the world to make disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ and invite people into our community we cal Carson Oaks.
So as we begin, be aware that you will find no perfection here; in our church, in me, or on this webpage. The only perfect one is Jesus Christ and when we finally see Him then we will be like Him, but up until that day we live in our successes and failures as human beings. We have our ups and downs and our good days and bad; but two things we do are we keep going, and we love each other through the process. No, it is not easy, but we do it. And so, if you are looking for a church family that has it all together and perfect, it is not us. But we do believe that as we get closer to Jesus and live this life in Him out together, we grow to be more like Him, and that is all we can do as we relentlessly pursue authentic discipleship.
In m y next blog I will talk a little about the love that we have been discovering together in John's 1,2 and 3rd epistles.
Interested? Come on by; stick around. You just might learn something.
I have added the ability for you to respond to my blogs. But be aware, if you respond, I may refer to our conversations on the blog. Not to throw you under the bus or anything, but if bears repeating or has a cool insight or even a disagreement, I may discuss it objectively.
May the peace of God be with you!
